Everyone had to contain their excitement as they followed the 30 kilometer per hour speed limit within the City of Davao. As the convoy reached Panabo, the riders had the opportunity to open up their throttles and enjoy the open road flanked by tall palm trees. The twisty mountain roads of Mati also served as treat, having a beautiful ocean view in the horizon. Some just had to stop to take time taking in the scenery. One attraction in the area is the view of an island the locals call “sleeping dinosaur” as its sshaape resembles that of a giant reptile sprawled on the sea. Upon arriving at the venue, the guests were greeted by colorful tents and a sumptous lunch feast. Yamaha facilitated some friendly games before giving everyone some free time in the afternoon. At the dinner party, a Motoworld representative raffled off some of their products. Motoworld is a motorcycle gear and apparel retail chain currently operating in Luzon and Visayas. However, they announced during the event that they will be opening two new outlets in Davao City and one in Cagayan De Oro by first quarter next year. Yamaha also presented the recently launched TFX 150 to their loyal customers. A video presentation highlighted the features of the newest addition to Yamaha’s line-up. Honda joins Victory Ride in Davao City

Approximately around 1,600 Riders composed of more than 50 Clubs all over Davao and nearby towns came for the said event. It was a fun, thrilling and exciting day for Davaoeño’s as Honda prepared various activities to all riders after the ride. The unity ride took place in Davao City hall grounds where a great number of riders gathered in numbers. A short briefing was done to simulate the flow of the ride and because of the huge number we also sought some help with Local Government Units. This is riders ended their short ride to a small but cozy resort in Davao the Vales beach resort where whole day of surprises started. After settling on their cottages, Honda gave the tired riders with their own treats! Free Mang Danny’s Ice Cream, a well known ice cream make in davao, Free merienda treats; free haircut and free massage. These treats were open to all the riders. As riders took liberty to get these amenities ,they also had the chance to see the latest motorcycles of Honda Philippines,the new line- up of Gen-S bikes; The new Honda BeAT Fi; Zoomer X; Click 125i;CB150 Streetfire; and the new RS150, the hottest 150cc motorcycle on the road. Lunch time came and Honda Philippines took care of this part. Riders were treated with a bountiful meal that made them surprised.Program started after lunch,Honda provided a short awareness about the power of Gen –S bikes and the highlights of PGM-FI,that made riders under more of its value. As darkness shrouded the sky,party started in Vales Beach. Good sounds was provided by local DJs’ along with booze while another round of Honda treat of Lechon Baboy was served. Prizes freebies and food were overflowing for all the riders. The night won’t be complete without a good laugh provided by the local look-a-like of Vice Ganda with the famous local reggae band, NAIRUD sa Wadab. After the good show of our local comedians, and reggae Band;fire dancers came into a finale with their amazing skills.The night came to an end with raffle draws. Freebies and minor prizes were given away by other sponsors of the event but Honda sponsored a brand new unit of our most selling Scooter Model,Honda BeAT Fi, for the lucky rider of the night.

Yamaha celebrates Kadayawan as ‘Week of Cultural Fusion’

The brand introduced the Mio Ride your Story campaign to the region that featured the Mio Sporty, Mio i 125, Mio Soul i 125, and Mio 125 Mxi. It revolves around the philosophy of breaking through and realizing how unique and special an individual’s identity really is. The Rizal Park became the Mio Motorcycles’ home in Davao where they were all displayed for the public. A free test ride was conducted for the davaoenos to determine which motorcycle was best suited for their personality. Of course, riding wouldn’t be the only feature. This is a festival after all. Yamaha also threw a party for everyone in attendance that featured Multi-Award winning band, Pupil. If that wasn’t enough the Philippine Pop-Rock Princess, Yeng Constantino, was also part of the festivities that gave the audience an unforgettable experience. To end the festival, Yamaha rolled out its own float during the Kadayawan Grand Parade. This fusion of ethnic excellence and motorcycle ingenuity is a pairing that is unusual yet a special bond that was witnessed, felt, and will always have a place in the hearts of everyone in the festival.

Trucks for Life’ showcased in the Isuzu Truck Fest – Davao

IPC, which had enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship with Davao’s residents and business community for decades, recently mounted the Isuzu Truck Fest – Davao. The event not only recognized the thriving commercial activity of the region but also highlighted Davao City’s present role in national life. Held at SM Lanang Premier on J.P. Laurel Avenue in Brgy. San Antonio Agdao, Davao City, Isuzu Truck Fest – Davao showcased to the local community the “Trucks for Life” models of IPC. The trucks, presented in a diverse range of applications and sizes, have been designed to meet the requirements of an equally varied profile of commercial vehicle users. The products also capably demonstrated Isuzu’s heritage in and core competency at truck manufacturing. “The Davao region, and Davao City in particular, has always been one of the most vibrant markets for Isuzu products. Without doubt, this comes as a result of the area’s well-informed consumers, progressive business sector, and dynamic governance. The Isuzu Truck Fest – Davao sought to show Dabawenyos the latest Isuzu commercial models that address their requirements and which are relevant to the further growth of their business ventures,” said IPC President Hajime Koso. Displayed at the event venue were 13 Isuzu truck models that have been configured for specific applications. IPC’s heavy-duty brigade was represented by the EXR and EXZ, which were shown as tractor heads so that customers may spec the trucks according to their requirements. For medium-duty use, IPC offered the FSR with a dropside body, and FVM that has been configured as a 10-door aluminum van. Isuzu’s N-Series, which led its segment for 16 consecutive years, was showcased as the NQR71, NKR71 and NHR in dropside bodies and as riveted aluminum vans. At Isuzu Truck Fest – Davao, IPC also offered visitors P10,000 worth of parts coupons and GoPro Hero 4 cameras. Show goers who registered for the event, and who purchase Isuzu trucks between August 4 and September 30, 2016 were eligible to receive the special promo freebies execlusive only for Isuzu Davao. Coinciding with the Isuzu Truck Fest – Davao display was a ceremony marking the turnover of Isuzu trucks to some of the company’s most valued fleet customers. Three of the Davao’s largest and most prestigious companies, which have relied on and have considered Isuzu vehicles as their business partners for numerous years, received their new vehicles during the event. Global banana producer and supplier Tagum Agricultural Development Co. Inc., through its Assistant Vice President for Purchasing Richard R. Go, bought 12 new Isuzu trucks. Eden Mountain Resort Inc., a renowned name in the hospitality industry, through Purchasing Manager Paul Santos, acquired nine new truck units. New truck units were also turned-over to one of Davao’s leading livestock and landscape operator, Nestfarms Inc. “While we in IPC are proud and very appreciative of the trust that these reputable companies have placed on the Isuzu brand, we are equally confident that the Isuzu trucks they have acquired will live up to their record of reliability and durability, and will render dependable service for many years. Suzuki and Motorjoy Touching Lives in Padada, Davao Del Sur

The journey in helping Piape began when Motorjoy’s Executive Vice President Mr. Romeo Noro passed by the area and his attention was caught by the makeshift rooms made of bamboo and nipa. His curiosity got him leading him in the discovery of the National High School which was an extension of the Maria Cleta R. De Los Cientos High School located in the more accessible part of Padada. Finding a new purpose, Mr. Noro opened the idea of extending help to Piape to his Motorjoy family of which their President, Mr. Paulino Ongtenco amicably committed to. The event was well attended by the supporters of the school from both the private and public sectors - Motorjoy Depot President Mr. Paulino Ongtenco and EVP Mr. Romeo Noro were present, Suzuki Philippines President Hiroshi Suzuki also graced the occasion, together with Yamaha Philippines President Toru Osugi, while the Rotary Club of North Davao was represented by Mr. Bong Cristobal, the local government office of Padada was also in attendance led by Mayor Pedro Caminero, Vice Mayor Francisco Guerrero Jr. and the municipal councilors. Along with them were the School Board of Maria Cleta R. Delos Cientos National High School led by Mr. Carmelo De Los Sientos IV. On behalf of the recipients, the school head Dr. Elizabeth Solano, Ed. D. expressed her gratitude to the donors and wished them more blessings as they continue to give back to the community. SM Lanang Premier to feature the Art of Bonsai and Pet Style

On May 20 to 22, an exhibit featuring “The Art of Bonsai,” the Japanese art form of forming miniature trees in containers, will take place at The Atrium. Organized by SM Lanang Premier in partnership with Harbest Bonsai, the Philippine Bonsai Society, Inc., and the Davao Bonsai Society, it features the works of 32 Bonsai artists and collectors who are passionate in propagating the said art form. Shoppers are invited to see the exhibit and join the Bonsai Beginners’ Workshop on May 21 to 22, from 11am to 5pm. Registration fee is Php1,500 inclusive of plant, tools and handouts.
