BISLIG CITY, Surigao del Sur-Camp Jaime N Ferrer Sr, Brgy Maharlika, Bislig City (Stn) – The 75th Infantry ‘Marauder” Battalion in partnership with the Local Government Units (LGUs) of Surigao del Sur and Agusan del Sur conducted checkpoint operation in all entrances and exit within the 75IB's Area of Responsibility (AOR) to ensure people's safety and preventive measures amidst Covid-19 outbreak.
In line with the Presidential Proclamation Number 922, series of 2020, declaring a State of Public emergency throughout the Philippines and as a precautionary measure to ensure public safety against Corona Virus Diseased (COVID-19). The Marauder troopers implemented the measures and protocols per memorandum published by respected LGUs in AOR until after the Public Health Emergency is lifted or withdrawn.
Moreover, the Province of Surigao del Sur will be quarantined to enforce the community that will take effect at 8:00 o clock in the evening of March 20, 2020 until revoked or lifted in order to protect the people within the Province from the fatal effects of Covid-19. The provincial government imposed tougher measures in conformity with the directives and guidelines in the implementation of preventive community quarantine from the national government.
In connection with the Presidential Proclamation No. 922 series of 2020, the LGU of every municipality within the 75IB’s AOR fully implemented its policy and guidelines in order to prevent the spread of the virus in their locality.
In his statement, Lieutenant Colonel Warren C Munda, Commanding Officer of 75IB said. "Our Medical Health Practitioners cannot do it alone in the widespread prevention of this disease. Knowing that your Philippine Army is for peace, therefore, we are also for the safety and welfare of everyone in fighting against this dreaded disease."
The Philippine Army's pursuit of peace will not be hampered by this Covid-19 outbreak. Cooperation, discipline and by simply following the policy will contribute to the successful prevention of disease outbreak in the country.
