A 38-year old businessman succumbed to gunshot wounds after he was shot, past 10:00 am on Tuesday (March 10), by unidentified riding in tandem, in Barangay Matampay, Marawi City.

Colonel Madzgani Mukaram, Lanao del Sur police director identified the victim as Sohaily Domagay Pandapatan, presently living at Bayanihan Village in Barangay Sta. Elena, Iligan City.

Police records states Pandapatan is a native of Barangay Alinun, Saguiaran, Lanao del Sur.

Initial police investigation states the victim mas riding his motorcycle from Marawi City going to the direction of Saguiaran when the motorcycle-riding suspects "suddenly appeared and shot the victim without any apparent reason".

The victim died of the multiple gunshot wounds on his chest and abdomen.

He was rushed by bystanders to Amai Pakpak Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival.

Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) recovered empty shells of caliber 45 from the crime scene.

Police is investigating the motive and identity of the suspects.

It was the second shooting incident, involving suspects riding in tandem, this month following the ambush-slay last March 5 of a policeman and his son onboard his Toyota Vios.
