Two finalists for this year’s Search for Outstanding AFC Chairpersons and Coordinators from Region 10 were named as national winners during the National Volunteers’ Day of the Philippine Council for Agriculture and Fisheries (PCAF) on December 6, 2018, in the city of Cagayan de Oro.
Besting other contenders from across the country, Prof. Edgardo D. Layug and Marcelino M. Pindol, surfaced as outstanding regional and municipal AFC chair, respectively. This, after they have been adjudged for remarkably capturing the essence of volunteerism towards community building.

This conferment for the Outstanding Agricultural and Fishery Council chairpersons and coordinators and Outstanding National Sectoral and Strategic Concerns Committee chairpersons and Advisory Special Bodies women leaders, is for their selfless dedication and commitment of championing Filipino farmers and fisherfolk’ aspirations.
For bagging the honors, both have won for themselves a cash incentive amounting to Php60,000.00 each.
