It was attended by some 40 regional information officers from various offices and agencies of government.
Dante Sudaria, President and CEO of Mindanao Daily Group of Newspapers, said the training workshop aims to enhance the participants’ communications skills and equip them with the necessary media tools.
The first day covered basic topics on Journalism/Communication Values and Ethics, Effective Business Letter Writing, and PR Writing. Second day consisted of topics on PR and Marketing, issues management and Crisis Communications, Interview Techniques and Broadcasting, Photojournalism and Writing for Social Media.
The workshop was handled by experienced and competent media personalities who are experts in the field of journalism. It is designed as well to provide a platform of best practices and protocols in the exercise of their respective tasks as partners of development, Sudaria said.
Earlier, the two entities had entered into a communication partnership agreement aimed at strengthening the dissemination of government information and communication most vital to the interest of public service.
The forging of such partnership agreement is most pressing in the light of the challenging roles water districts are facing in this era of change.
Similar workshops were organized for the Bukidnon Association of Water Districts and Bukidnon Press Club.
As Mindanao Daily News embarks on its eighth year, Sudaria is looking forward serving the community even better.
