CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY - The 2nd BITRADE Summit for broilers will be held on May 19, 2016 at the Emerald Ballroom 2 of Limketkai Luxe Hotel , this city.
Industry leaders and movers in the broiler sector are expected to attend the whole-day seminar. Among them is San Miguel Foods Inc., CP Foods Philippines and local giant Gama Foods Corp., to name a few.
This year’s theme is entitled “Enhancing Competitiveness of the Philippine Broiler Industry Towards Achieving Food Security”. Thru a message given by Sec. Proceso Alcala specifically on this event, production in the poultry subsector has expanded by 8.76% in 2015. The subsector contributed 17.23% to the Agricultural Gross Output. Production of chicken grew by 8.77% and chicken eggs, by 9.91%, bringing a total gross value of P47.4 Billion. This endeavor being done by BITRADE reinforces government efforts to ensure the growth and development of poultry amid changing climatic conditions and the challenges of the expanding global market, says Sec. Alcala.
Renowned local and international speakers were invited to share their knowledge and expertise in their respective fields. The speakers include International poultry management expert and author of the book Broiler Signals: A Practical Guide to Broiler-Focused Management Dr. Maarten de Gussem from Europe; one of the best-sought local speaker on various areas of management and AEC (Asean Economic Community) Prof. Nestor Rañeses from the University of the Philippines-Diliman, and Head of the Agribusiness Unit of BPI, Mr. Moises Casubha are the acknowledged resource speakers in the said event.
