The opening was guested no less by Mags owner, founder and namesake Mags Cue who has steered the company into steady and growing success since its inception in 2004. From a humble boutique located at Limketkai Center, Mags has branched out nationwide and became a household name among fashionista housewives and other niche demographics.
The May 12 event – which coincided with the opening of SM CDO Downtown – was also graced by Alice Dixon who is the latest celebrity endorser of Mags. Dixon waved, smiled and signed autographs to well-wishers of the store’s continuing success.
The branch inauguration likewise featured half a dozen female models as live mannequins and mall shoppers came to admire them and posed pictures with them.Mags became Cagayan de Oro’s most popular ladies fashion brand, evolving a few years later with the male clothing line Andre. Their trendy fashion collection is always a hit beyond Cagayan de Oro shores, making Cue decide to put up branches all over the country. Today, Mags maintains a presence in SM City North EDSA (Annex), SM City Fairview, SM City Davao, SM City Iloilo, SM City Pampanga, SM City Lipa, SM City Lucena, Robinsons Place Manila, Robinsons Place Iloilo, Pavilion Mall (Laguna), Abreeza Mall, Maze in Ayala Center Cebu, SM Marilao, SM Consolacion and SM City General Santos.
Mags is also known for its annual Mags on the Catwalk where the catwalk artists featured are not models by occupation but are real Mags shoppers exhibiting confidence as they strut in the outfits of their choosing.
Cue said the accomplishment of Mags serves as a motivation to Filipinos who also dream of becoming successful.
