JCI Macajalar 24K held a block screening for Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral last September 5 at SM Cinemas CDO Downtown Premier 3 and 4 from 7:00 p.m. onwards for the benefit of the club’s projects.
The block screening preceded a meet and greet with two of the film’s stars, Empress Schuck and Stephanie Sol, who happens to be a Kagay-anon.
Sol first hugged the spotlight almost two decades ago when she became Miss Teen Philippines 2004 and from then on, her career skyrocketed with already 22 films and soaps under her tuck.
A sequel of the much-loved Jerrold Tarog 2015 epic Heneral Luna, Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral depicts the life of the youngest military general in Philippine history, Brigadier Gen. Gregorio “Goyo” del Pilar, featuring a directorial comeback of Tarog with Paulo Avelino in the title role. Sol plays a supporting role in the film.
Chartered in 1986, JCI Macajalar 24K currently has more than 30 active women in its fold. It is an organization that encourages young women to become responsible citizens and participate in efforts towards social and economic developments. Just like other JCI clubs elsewhere, it has calendared outreaches throughout the year.
