A recent visit to Bukidnon of Mr. Lorens Ziller, the Vice President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines underlined the growing interest this region is having for foreign investors in the food chain sector. He noted: “With the population growth in the Philippines and the steadily increasing demand in locally grown produce there are huge potentials for our member companies and investors here in Bukidnon and Northern Mindanao. This is the ideal place to operate from farming to food processing, food distribution and export. The Italian Chamber is helping to bring operators together and we help them in their start up.”
Italian investor and entrepreneur Mr. Marco Cargnelli has just recently started planting and growing tomatoes, bell peppers, chili peppers to cover the first of his 12 ha his company acquired in the area.
He is absolutely convinced of the potential that lays in farming, especially in custom growing for various clients he already was able to find just only in the Philippines. “We also have orders from Japan and Russia but in this first phase we are focusing on satisfying the demand of the local market. Thanks to our new technologies and organic fertilisers we are able to grow a superior product that tastes better and lasts longer. Ideal also for the international market.”
Italpinas Development corporation, also a member of ICCPI, was the first foreign participated company pioneering and betting on Northern Mindanao as an investment location by building what is now the famous Primavera Residences in Uptown Cagayan de Oro. The developer is now launching its second project “Primavera City” next month, also located just beside SM City in CdO.
The success of the company is the proof that with the right partnerships contribute to create jobs and at the same time bring in a refreshing green design and architectural innovation.
