CAGAYAN de Oro hosted the Mindanao leg of the Honda Gen S Scooter Fest to be held the whole day today that will last into the evening at Limketkai Parking Lot D. It was sure a fun-filled day as XRM owners were enthralled at the sight of the participating scooters in the accessorized contest. Some took part singing and dancing during the Gen S talent search portion.
This leg was the last in a three-part series that started last November in Manila, followed by December in Cebu and capping in this part of Mindanao last January 16 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. or the whole duration of mall shopping hours.
At 10:00 a.m., a motorcade featuring the three Gen S models – Honda Click 125i, Honda Beat Fi and Zoomer X – was done at the city’s major streets. At Limketkai parking lot, there was a daylong gimmick of various fun activities such as free test ride and learn to ride, accessorized scooter contest, poster making contest, Gen S talent search and live band entertainment featuring Parokya ni Edgar. The talent search occurred at 5:00 p.m. and was followed by the awarding program and intermission in between by Parokya ni Edgar.
During the event, the world’s largest motorcycle manufacturer successfully showcasedits Gen S capabilities i.e. Honda’s smart technology (enhanced smart power, combi brake system and idling brake system) in its three models.
Equipped with New Generation Intelligent 125cc global engine with cutting edge technological featuers, the Click 125i is powered by Enhanced Smart Power which maximizes efficient combustion and minimizes friction to reduce the risk of waste and optimize the energy out. Those same capabilities can also be found in both variants of the Honda Beat Fi – standard and special.
Meanwhile, the Zoomer X features an upgraded 110cc PGM fuel-injected engine capable of five percent more torque and six percent more power than its predecessor. The Zoomer X has also been fitted with an all-new fully digital meter panel, new headlight frame and 12-inch cast tubeless tires.
