MISAMIS ORIENTAL: Provincial Governor Yevgeny Vincente Emano on Monday dismissed a provincial jail guard who was reportedly caught while in a “pot session” near the Misamis Oriental Provincial Jail (MOPJ) here.
Dismissed Edgardo G. Cajardo, 48, of Binitinan, Balingasag, Misamis Oriental, was reportedly caught by politic operative Thursday night while in an illegal drug “pot session” near the MOPJ office.
Cajardo, a regular employee, was assigned as a provincial guard at the provincial capitol park in concurrent capacity as Administrative Aide of the Provincial General Services Office (PGSO).
The visibly irked Emano warned provincial government employees that anyone found to be engaged in “illegal drugs” would be dismissed from service, not without “due process.”
He said that all benefits accrued to Cajardo, as a regular government employee, would be forfeited in favor of the government.
Emano said that he wants Cajardo imprisoned and “rot in jail” and told all employees engaged in illegal drugs to immediately resign and leave the service.
“Do not wait for the day that the law enforcers would catch and make you and besmirch the good name of your family because of your illegal activities,” Emano said.
Emano issued the warning after receiving reports that some regular employees at the provincial capitol are subject of surveillance because of illegal drug activities.
About six Misamis Oriental regular and “contractual” workers, including a Nurse, were already dismissed at the start of the anti-illegal drug campaign of President Rodrigo Duterte in 2016.
