THE homegrown fuel distribution outlet Geo Gas has opened its second branch last Wednesday.
Geo Gas Kauswagan is conveniently located along RN Pelaez Boulevard, Zone 1, Kauswagan in Cagayan de Oro City.
Geo Gas was started by the Gordiel family when they opened their first outlet last July 6, 2014 just near the family-owned Country Village Hotel in Villarin St., Carmen, also this city.
Then exactly two years later, Then chief operations officer Charmaine Gordiel decided to tap the booming market in Kauswagan area leading to the Port of Cagayan de Oro.
“It is definitely where we should be because there are lots of truckers who pass by this area since this is the main road going to and from the pier where they disembark or load their goods,” Gordiel said.
She also said that Kauswagan is a convergence point of public utility vehicles coming from Kauswagan, Bonbon, Bayabas and even Bulua.
Many subdivisions and condominiums are also sprouting in the area where residents have their own vehicles to gas up.
Cagayan de Oro-based Geo Gas is part of the burgeoning independent players in the market.
In fact this early, family patriarch George Gordiel announced that he would build six more gas stations in the future in and outside Cagayan de Oro.
Independent oil players such as Geo Gas are able to compete vis-à-vis their major oil player-counterparts through a combination of savvy marketing strategies and investment in outlets which have a ready source of inexpensive yet high-qualify fuel products.
Diesel, unleaded and premium are available at both Geo Gas outlets in Vilarin and Kauswagan. They also sell Castrol products exclusively.
During the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo) 2018 basketball tournament that was held last October 20, the Miss Cocpo 2018 was also conducted. Adjudged winner is Kia Cañete. Here she is being flanked by Cocpo director Senior Supt. Nelson Aganon (right) and Mayor Oscar Moreno (left)....
