LOOC Elementary School is this year's recipient of Brigada Eskwela by FDC Misamis Power Corporation. Brigada Eskwela of the Department of Education (DepEd) is a yearly program conducted before the start of the school year.
As a corporate citizen, FDC Misamis does it the best way they know how - they make the schools safer by maintaining the electrical wirings and providing safety trainings for the school administration, teachers, students, parents and members of the community.
The company started its participation to the program in 2014 during the time when the plant was starting its construction.
"While we are building the very pillars of FDC Misamis, we are repairing the pillars of the schools in the community," said corporate communications officer Erwin Delilan. "In the spirit of bayanihan, we involve our employee volunteers to repaint, repair and share our safety trainings."
2017 marks the fifth year of FDC Misamis' participation in Brigada Eskwela. Past beneficiaries were San Martin Elementary School, Tambobong Balacanas National High School, Tambobong Balacanas Elementary School, Sta. Cruz Elementary School, Kalilangan Elementary School, Vicente N. Chaves Memorial, Villanueva National High School - Looc, Don Fernando Jacinto Elementary School, Kirahon Elementary School, Baluarte Elementary School, Sta. Cruz Elementary School, Natumulan Elementary School and Mohon Elementart School.
Being a responsible community member by empowering the education sector through sustainable initiatives is indeed the FDC Misamis way.
