LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “…Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves…” (Romans 13:1-2, the Holy Bible).
EDSA 1986 IS TO BE BLAMED FOR SERENO’S OUSTER WOES: With all the rowdy, gaudy, and often giddy calls for Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Aranal Sereno to already step down from the Supreme Court even if she has not yet been given the chance to defend herself from the accusations against her, she will have nothing else to blame but the so-called EDSA People Power Revolution of 1986, which was the very means by which the president that appointed her to the court was able to ascend to the presidency.
If we will seriously think about it, before EDSA 1986, no ouster of any sort of any leader of this country or of any government agency ever took place unless some kind of a trial has first taken place and the officials concerned given sufficient opportunity ---their day in court, as it were---to at the very least explain their side of the controversy.
All of these underwent a radical transformation with EDSA 1986. Because of EDSA 1986, an example has been set whereby leaders are kicked out from office merely by noisy protests and mass actions, and no longer through the means provided for law. Replacing top officers of government has become as easy as mounting street demonstrations, and creating mayhem on the roads of the city. Truth is, this kind or style of removing leaders clearly contravenes what the Bible commands.
SUBMISSION TO AUTHORITIES REQUIRED BY GOD: We have to remember that men and women everywhere are mandated by God to be obedient to authorities at all times. We are all prohibited from fighting our leaders, officers and authorities at all times, because these authorities, leaders and officers were all established as our authorities, leaders and officers by God Himself.
In Romans 13:1-2, it is there written: “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.”
In 1 Peter 2:13, the Bible intones: Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them.” In Titus 2:9, the Bible says: “Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them…”
In Hebrews 13:17-18, it is said: “Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.”
PRAY FOR LEADERS, EVEN IF THEY APPEAR TO HAVE ERRED: What, really, has been written about what people should do if they have issues against leaders who they think committed misdemeanors in office? Here is what 1 Timothy2:1-4 commands: “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people--- for kings and all those in authority.
“(This we should do) that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleasesGod our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth…”
FOR QUESTIONS, REACTIONS: If anyone would like to ask me any question about what the burning issues of the day mean, or what we have discussed here, or to consult on any problem, whatever it maybe, please call 0917 984 24 68, or email me at email@example.com, or post your concerns at www.facebook.com/attybatas. Promise, I will answer right away. Thank God in the Name of Jesus, Amen!
