OZAMIZ City—The Department of Education (DEPED) in partnership with city government of Ozamiz spearheaded a regional conduct of the School Heads Development (SHDP): Foundation Course Colloquium and Completion Ceremony (Cluster 1) held in barangay Banadero, Ozamiz City on 17 January 2018.
The activity was participated by all school heads who were completers of the SHDP: Foundation Course and evaluators composed of Schools Division Superintendents (SDSs), Assistant Schools Division Superintendents (ASDSs), Education Program Supervisors (EPSs), Public Schools District Supervisors (PSDSs), Principals and SHDP Facilitators from Ozamiz City Division, Tangub City Division, Oroquieta City Division, Misamis Ocidental Division and Lanao Del Norte Division.
As a highlight of this activity, the Best Application Projects will be awarded based in the results of the evaluation conducted by the School Division Offices and the Regional Office.
The Best Application Project implementers will also receive cash prizes which shall go to the schools where the Application Project were implemented.
The cash prizes shall be used for school improvement relative to teacher/ student development.
Human Resource Development Division Chief Raymund S. Antolo said that leadership is lifting a person’s vision to higher sights, the raising of a person’s performance to a higher standard, the building of a personality beyond its normal limitations.
He added that leadership is not magnetic personality that can just as well be a glib tongue. It is not making friends and influencing people that is flattery.
The SHDP is a systematically develop principals in educational leadership and management that would enable them to lead and manage k-12 schools in the 21st century. It also aims to improve the capacity of the Schools heads to manage their schools as well as prepare aspirants to handle responsibilities of a school head.
