The Del Monle Family congratulates Del Monte Foundation Scholar Rachel Eve Bensig who placed No. 2 in the Nursing licensure examinations con¬ducted by the Phil. Regulatory Commission, June 5-6. She outranks more than 6,000 passers, from a list of more than 12.000 examinees.
Rachel graduated from Xavier University, was a class salutatorian at Holy Cross High School, and a consistent honor student in her hometown of Libona, Bukidnon.
Fellow Del Monte Scholar Charmaine Reyes also passed the Architecture licensure examinations held June 24-26, joining PRC’s roster of 1.200 new architects. She is a graduate of Mindanao University of Science and Technology and a resident of Manolo Fortich. Bukidnon.
Del Monte’s Scholarship program has supported the education of deserving schoolchildren from rural communities around Del Monte since the 1950s. Former Del Monte scholars who now share their expertise with the community include rice geneticist and TOYM awardee Glenn Gregorio and Mindanao telecommunications pioneer and inventor Elpedio Paras. This year, over 300 scholars are enrolled in secondary and collegiate.
