DAVAO CITY -- Police nabbed 18 individuals with warrants of arrest during the “Oplan Kalinaw” anti-criminality drive in Barangay 76-A Bucana here Thursday.
Chief Insp. Jason Baria, spokesperson of Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 (Davao region), identified the arrested individuals as Bryce Byle Balwis Maturan for Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC); Herald Bong E. Cuevas for child abuse; Richard F. Mananday for qualified theft; Paul A. Litoy for illegal drugs; Abdul Ibraheem Morata Allong for rape; Christian Paul Albon Capisnon alias Polpol for robbery with violence against or intimidation of persons; Romel Thamsiy Alvarez for homicide;
Rutchel Sangria Sua-An for slight physical injuries; Alfredo dela Peña for illegal drugs; Rey Marangga Puliran for violation of VAWC; Aldent Francis Caringuit Simbulas for acts of lasciviousness; Dindo Wayan Bonlain for statutory rape (sexual assault); Edward Farell Santi for murder; Rogelio Borja Armodia for illegal gambling; Darryl Dumaquita Camarote for murder; Tonacao for attempted rape; Jessie Eklig for violation of the law against child abuse; and James Suam Liton for car theft.
“Oplan Kalinaw” is designed to conduct profiling of transient residents in urban poor communities in the city, manhunt operation and arrest of wanted persons hiding in communities, conduct community outreach, and community empowerment through education.
Baria said the operation resulted in the profiling of 1,616 residents, while a total of 849 residents availed of the free medical check-up, supplemental food feeding, and 587 persons received free medicines and vitamins.
