Tubod, Lanao del Norte -- Agriculture Secretary Proceso J. Alcala handed over about P195 million (M) worth of agricultural assistance to more than 4,000 farmers and fisherfolks in attendance on February 15, 2016 during the conduct of a Farmers and Fisherfolks’ Forum, held in the Mindanao Civic Center Sports Complex, of this town.
This gesture is in response to the Department of Agriculture (DA)’s goal of delivering more support to the key players of the agriculture sector, especially in the rural countryside. LDN is one among the many provinces visited by the DA chief as a way of handing over the legacy of the current administration to the next.
On his third visit to the province, Sec. Alcala eyed to solicit feedback at the grassroots level for a seamless implementation of the forthcoming programs, projects and services under the department.
Since Sec. Alcala has taken helm of the department, Dir. Ramos reported the strides of the province, which includes registering self-sufficiency level at 139% for rice and receiving a downpour of assistance for agri-development.
