The rice program of the Department of Agriculture - Regional Field Office 10 (DA-RFO 10), thru the Field Operations Division administers a two-day workshop on the second batch of Rice Crop Manager (RCM) planning on August 1-2, 2018, here in the city of Cagayan de Oro.
The 50 RCM coordinator participants were capacitated on RCM application’s current version 2.21 with its resource person, the RCM focal person of DA RFO 10, Mr. Karl Roman Wong,
RCM is a modern farming application developed by the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) which already started in 2014. Through this application, lowland rice farmers will be provided a personalized crop and nutrient management recommendations that matches their location for a precise rice-growing condition with the use of a computer or smartphone.
RCM v2.21 according to Wong is a “friendly user” version since it is easier and more convenient to use compared to the previous one.
