Compostela Valley Province---The province opens its "20th Founding Anniversary and 11th Bulawan Festival" celebration with the Bulawan Fun Run and Duathlon on March 4, 2018 at the Provincial Capitol Grounds, Cabidianan, Nabunturan, Comval.
As early as 5'o'clock in the morning, more than 9,000 registered runners from the different Local Government Units (LGUs), national and local government agencies, private institutions and individuals in Comval and other neighbouring places participated in this year’s Bulawan fun run and duathlon activity as the opening salvo.
Governor Jayvee Tyron L. Uy said that the proceeds of the event will go mainly for the repair of school buildings in the province and other infrastructure needs.
“We want to showcase this year that we are going to emphasize the environment since this will be the key for our sustainability in our province especially in the next generation,” he said.
Gracing also the occasion were Congressman Karlo Nograles of the 1st District in Davao City as the Guest of Honor together with 1st district Congressman Maricar Zamora of Comval, Provincial Officials led by Vice Governor Manuel E. Zamora, Municipal Mayors led by the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) president Mayor Ruberto M. Yugo of Pantukan and municipal officials.
The advocacy run and duathlon was indeed successful. As a gesture of gratitude and adding excitement, various prizes and items were awarded to the winners as well as the registrants during the raffle draw such us BMX bikes, watches and many more.
The winners for fun run and duathlon in different categories received cash prizes, plaques and medals.
For the Fun Run 3K male category winners are: 1st place Mark Angelo Bansag, 2nd place Romel Galingan, 3rd Leo Anthony Alanan. For the Female category: 1st place Jennifer Guido, 2nd place Teska Miranda, 3rd place Jaila Mae Ranzes. Both categories are below 12 years old. While the 5K category for men: 1st place Arlan Arbois, 2nd Jumboy Lugay, 3rd Elmer Bartolo and for women category, 1st place Annie Mary Depone, 2nd Jezza Jamio, 3rd Luzminda Horcasitas.
