Cebu Pacific was adjudged Best Airline in Launches during the annual SimpliFlying Awards, held in London. The Philippines’ leading airline bested flyadeal and Lufthansa, among others for its #CEBFlyMeTo campaign. The campaign, launched in late-2017, utilized crowdsourcing to find out from netizens which destinations in the Philippines they wanted Cebu Pacific to fly next.
The #CEBFlyMeTo campaign also aimed to bring communities together to voice out their thoughts and push for their hometowns to become one of CEB’s destinations. Over two million netizens watched, shared, reacted, and commented with their #CEBFlyMeTo votes, with Batanes emerging as the winner.
Cebu Pacific began flying to Batanes in March 2018.
