The awards ceremony and appreciation lunch for stakeholders of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) in Region I and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) was held at the Convention Hall, BSP La Union Regional Office, San Fernando City, La Union on 18 July 2017. Monetary Board Member Juan D. De Zuniga, Jr. led the said event.
Jolly-Vigan Food Corp. was chosen as the Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms while Consolidated Adhesives, Inc. was recognized as the Outstanding Respondent among Small Firms for the Business Expectations Survey in Region I and CAR. The Outstanding Respondent for the Coordinated Direct Investment Survey was awarded to TI Philippines, Inc. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-CAR and National Economic and Development Authority-Region I received the award for Outstanding Partner for the Report on Regional Economic Developments. The PSA-CAR also received the Hall of Fame award for being the Outstanding Partner for the Report on Regional Economic Developments for three consecutive years. The Kapit-Bisig Award (City Level) was conferred to the City Government of Alaminos. The Outstanding Regional Partner in Currency Programs was awarded to the Bankers Association of Ilocos Sur and Bangued, Abra and Urdaneta City University-Region I for Coin Recirculation; and to the Municipal Government of Bangui, Ilocos Norte and Department of Interior and Local Government-Municipality of Manga tarem for Demonetization of the New Design Series. The Outstanding Regional Partner for Implementing BSP Advocacy on the Conduct of Public Information Campaigns award was given to the Department of Trade and Industry-La Union Regional Branch, College of Business Administration and Accountancy, University of Northern Philippines and College of Accountancy-University of Luzon. Each awardee was presented the “Dynamic Balance, Philippine Eagle” trophy while the Gold Hall of Fame awardee received the “Soaring to Greater Heights” trophy, both of which were crafted by visual artist and multi-awarded sculptor, Mr. Ferdinand Cacnio.
This occasion is one way by which the BSP acknowledges the successful partnerships with stakeholders resulting in more efficient and effective means of information gathering and conduct of advocacy campaigns to achieve the BSP’s mandate of maintaining price stability and promoting a strong financial system. Stakeholders of the BSP in the National Capital Region were earlier recognized during the awards ceremony at the BSP Main Complex, Manila on 11 July 2017. This year’s stakeholders’ awards ceremony in Region I and CAR marks the 14th time that the BSP has awarded stakeholders in the region and is the first in a series of 12 regional events for this year.
