The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) will honor its stakeholders who have provided exemplary support to its statistical undertakings, information needs, and advocacy programs during the 2017 Awards Ceremony and Appreciation Lunch for BSP Stakeholders in Region II. With the theme “Transforming Shared Visions into Dynamic Partnership,” the occasion will be held on Tuesday, 25 July 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Japi Hotel, Maharlika Highway, Cauayan City, Isabela. Monetary Board Member Juan D. De Zuniga, Jr. will lead in honoring this year’s awardees and stakeholders.
The BSP will give ten awards to outstanding partners: for the Information Support category—two for the Business Expectations Survey (BES), and one for Sources of Information for the Report on Regional Economic Developments; and for the Advocacy Support category—one for the Credit Surety Fund (CSF) Program, two for the Local Government Unit (LGU) Coordination, three for the Currency Programs of the BSP, and one for Implementing BSP Advocacy on the Conduct of Public Information Campaigns.
The Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms and the Outstanding Respondent among Small Firms will be awarded to BES respondents selected from among the country’s top corporations in Region II that participated regularly in the survey by providing timely, complete, accurate and consistent responses. The Outstanding Partner for Sources of Information for the Report on Regional Economic Developments will be bestowed to the agency or institution that provided the BSP with information support to have an effective scan of the economic environment in the region. The Outstanding CSF LGU Partner will be given to the CSF that exhibited exceptional efforts in promoting CSF to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) under its jurisdiction. The Kapit-Bisig Award (Provincial Level) and Kapit-Bisig Award (Municipal Level) will be granted to the LGU, which has successfully collaborated with the BSP in attaining consumer protection. The Outstanding Regional Partner for Currency Programs will be conferred to the agencies or institutions that supported the BSP’s currency programs and advocacies in Region II such as the Clean Note Policy, Coin Recirculation and Demonetization of the New Design Series. Lastly, the Outstanding Regional Partner for implementing BSP Advocacy on the Conduct of Public Information Campaign will be awarded to the agency or institution that has supported the BSP’s public information campaigns conducted in Region II.
This occasion is the second of the BSP’s regional stakeholders’ events which will be held from July to September 2017 in 12 areas outside the National Capital Region to honor stakeholders in various award categories. Stakeholders of the BSP in the National Capital Region were earlier recognized during the awards ceremony held last 11 July 2017 at the BSP Main Complex, Manila.
This event is expected to further improve and strengthen the partnerships between the BSP and its stakeholders, resulting in a more successful information gathering and conduct of advocacy campaigns to accomplish the BSP’s objectives of safeguarding price stability and promoting a healthy financial system as well as ensuring an efficient payments and settlements system in the country.
