Davao City, The Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) thru its Regional Board of Investments (RBOI) recently joined in a business to business matching session with a 100-strong Taiwanese business delegation to Mindanao.
The business matching session for the “2018 Taiwan Trade and Investment Delegation to the Philippines” organized by the Bureau of Foreign Trade of Taiwan and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council was held at Marco Polo Hotel, Davao City this Thursday. Mindanao Business Council served as the host for the business delegation.
RBOI brought participants to the business matching from its registered firms. In particular, RBOI was able to facilitate the business matching of EKASALAM Agriventures Corporation, a 100% Filipino and locally-based banana plantation company in Ampatuan, Maguindanao with Colorado Technology Marketing Co., Ltd., a company engaged in innovative, cost-effective and environment-friendly fertilizer and plant technologies.
Lawyer Ishak Mastura, RBOI chairman and managing head said that this engagement by local or indigenous business firms from ARMM with international and foreign companies is a clear indication that ARMM businessmen have the capacity to partner with foreign investors on equal footing despite coming from a region considered a conflict-affected area.
“We hope in the future that ARMM companies can join in the foreign investment missions organized by the Philippine government and various trade and investment promotion bodies. Activities such as this business matching session with Taiwanese is a good training ground for our local businessmen,” said Mastura.(Source: RBOI)
