MORE non-government organizations are being accredited in the city’s Local Special Bodies.
During its regular session Monday, January 7, the 18th City Council headed by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy adopted a resolution accrediting the Cagayan de Oro Health and Wellness Association, Inc. (CDOHAWAI) as a member of the LSB.
Tanya Bustilo, founding president of CDOHAWAI, informed the city government that the association is composed of 14 member-establishments including as spas, yoga studios and suppliers of all natural and handmade products.
The advocacy of CDOHAWAI is to educate and uplift the spa industry, she cited.
As an accredited member, she said, the association can elevate the standards of the industry while instilling the right values to the next generation therapists.
The accreditation of people’s organizations and NGOs is pursuant to DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2016-97 and Article 64, Rule XIII of the rules and regulations implementing the 1991 Local Government Code.
The resolution was endorsed by the committees on health, sanitation and health insurance and on laws and rules chaired by Councilors Maria Lourdes S. Gaane and Ian Mark Nacaya, respectively.
