DANGCAGAN, Bukidnon -- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) - Bukidnon Provincial Field Office (Buk PFO) in partnership with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of the local government unit (LGU) of Dangcagan launched its first “one-stop service” or DOLE Clinic in June 2017.
“DOLE Clinic is in line with the mandate of Labor Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III to establish the one-stop service in the PESO under the LGUs nationwide,” DOLE-X Buk PFO Chief Raul L. Valmores said.
DOLE Clinic is a mechanism to bring the DOLE closer to the community by providing pre-employment facilitation service, labor standards advisory service, dispute resolution service, and livelihood assistance.
The activity facilitated the immediate and effective delivery of DOLE services to the workers in the province and an avenue for the delivery of the Department’s public assistance on its advocacy, services, and referral of concerns to appropriate agencies on matters such as local and overseas employment, entitlements under general labor standards and occupational safety and health standards, labor relations, and livelihood assistance.
Regional Coordinating Committee (RCC) region 10 in attendance during the launching were representatives from the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA); Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPB); Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC); Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC); National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB); and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
Valmores further said that some 120 participants were from Organisasyon sa Gagmay ug Yanong Obrerong Nagkahiusa (OGYON); various chapters of Bukidnon; sugarcane field workers; Sumifru Phils., Inc. plantation workers; field workers of the District Tripartite Council (DTC) Bukidnon Mill District among others.
“We are happy that the services of the government are made available to the public conveniently through the DOLE Clinic. This activity greatly helped our constituents through immediate action on their labor and employments issues and concerns varying from wages, legal disputes, overseas, livelihood assistance, maternity/death benefits, occupation safety and health standards, and other skills training,” said Dangcagan PESO Manager Olive D. Lepiten. (Jessamie M. Aliño, and Devina R. Guhiling, DOLE-X/Bukidnon Provincial Field Office)
